Changes story overall. Perhaps also choose a mentor that also changes the story a little. Race would be like your class. Each having cool benefits. Obviously saiyans have their transformations. Perhaps you choose hair and body size when you unlock each.

Humans can have tech or weapons maybe? Buu can transformers. Namekian gets it's super. And frieza gets 3 forms and gold. You create your first form upon making your character. When you unlock second form, you create that. Same with the 3rd.
