Nessy games for kids
Our kids loved it and it gave us the opportunity of reaching the parents by having them attend Worship during our event. We would love to hear your feedback or suggestions for making these games better.

Supplies : large melons, cans of Crisco, long plastic tarps Team members will roll a Crisco coated melon down the plastic tarp with their heads. First team that has each member complete the task wins. For extra fun have teams decorate their melon first. Kids with dyslexia need a LOT of practice with reading and spelling to become fluent.
This is a win-win. One thing to note is that while Nessy Reading and Spelling can be used to teach any kind of learner to read, dyslexic or not, it may not be suitable for a stand-alone reading curriculum for kids with dyslexia. My 9-year old is on the more profound side of dyslexia.

Do you need to buy 2 licenses one for each child or can 2 kids in the same house use the same license? How advanced does this go? My daughter is past the basics but still needs practice, especially in spelling. Also I was wondering if it can be done on a phone.
Would this be a good complement for All About Spelling Level ? I think a critical fact is omitted from the article. If a student with known or suspected dyslexia is already receiving instruction with an Orton-Gillingham based reading and spelling program, a parent should NOT mix methodologies as it will confuse the student.
For dyslexia to be effectively remediated, one program should be done with fidelity. This is what research has shown to work. Because Nessy teaches one concept at a time, explicitly and with a lot of review, my kids did very well with it. Hi Ashely. It does not work for Dyslexia PD. My son is in the 4th grade and was diagnosed with Dyslexia in May. His school is looking into Nessy, do you think this would be enough or use something like Barton or Wilson and Nessy as extra reinforcement.
It would definitely be good. It would be better to use something like Wilson or Barton as a main curriculum and use Nessy even at home for reinforcement and practice. I have three questions for you: 1 Could this be used in addition to a OT based phonics curriculum, in a more independent way, mainly for fun and extra reinforcement?
It has helped my dyslexic daughter make progress and has helped my non-dyslexic son fly through phonics and learning how to read with a fantastic foundation. They both love it. It is by far the best program we have used and we have used MANY. After a month and a half of Nessy, she has progressed by leaps and bounds! She is reading more fluently and with much more confidence! She will actually, of her own free will, go and pick up a book to read!

When starting your program, my daughter read at a beginning 2nd grade level, 2 years behind her actual grade level. We pulled her out of public school, began homeschooling and used your program daily.
In less than a year, my daughter is now reading at a 5th grade level, her current grade level. Did you know there are more than 40 different sounds phonemes in English? The Nessy Phonic Sound pack is a great way to learn them. Students need to know the sounds and names of the alphabet before learning the phonic sound pack.
