Outlook windows opening small

This is probably easy to fox but I can't figure it out. When I open Outlook or restore it from being minimized it opens in a small window and I have to click maximize every time.

Diane Poremsky Senior Member. Do you want it maximized or just bigger? An old Windows trick for setting window sizes also works with Outlook hold down the shift key and double click in the top left corner of the window.
This will close the window and when you reopen, it should remember the size and location. You need to verify that outlook closed completely in task manager, processes tab. If it's left running, its being forced closed and the changes won't stick.

Posted 19 March - AM. So sorry for the very late reply. I just got back in to town. It may very well be her resolution. I tried to attach a screenshot of mine-couldn't. She said she has just been double clicking on it now. Which she seems happy with so maybe we can just close this out? If I would have seen how her original page looked to compare what it currently looks like I could have described it better.

I usually resize the task bar with it unlocked and that usually fixes weird problems like this. But that did not work tonight. It turns out that Outlook I'm not sure about other versions has a setting in the main window lower right called Display Settings. It allows one to set it to "Optimize for best Change it to the latter and window sizes for Appointments, etc.
It seems to me the "Optimize for compatibility" name should be changed to "Optimize for your sanity" and the "Optimize for best The optionize setting is new - i don't think they backported it. You should only see it in the status bar when you use a docking station or access the computer using remote desktop and the screens uses different resolutions. On my my Laptop, when I open Google, only half of my screen appears. When I type in hotmail or Windows Live or Outlook, still only half of my screen appears.
